How to register
Everyone who plays for the Gators — from our Woolies Blast five-year-olds to Premier grade — needs to be registered through PlayHQ before their first game. It takes about ten minutes. Here’s how to get it right the first time.

Playing junior cricket and senior cricket this season? Use the junior form only.
One junior registration covers you for both. Registering as a senior charges the higher senior fee, and refunding the difference through PlayHQ takes weeks.
Which registration do I need?
There are three separate forms and they cost different amounts, so it’s worth ten seconds to check you’re on the right one. Pick the form that matches the lowest grade you’ll play in.
The quick test: boys born on or after 2 September 2009, and girls born on or after 2 September 2007, are still juniors for 2026/27 — junior form. Anyone born before that is a senior.

Read this first
Juniors who play senior cricket
Plenty of our juniors get a game with a senior side during the season — it’s one of the best things about this club, and we want it to keep happening. If that’s you, you only need one registration, and it’s the junior one.

Register through the junior form. It covers your junior grade and any senior cricket you play. Nothing else to fill in, nothing else to pay.
× Not this
Don’t use the senior form, and don’t register twice. Senior fees are higher, so you’ll be out of pocket — and getting it back means a refund request through PlayHQ that can take a few weeks to come through.
How does one registration cover both?
Through a permit, which the club lodges in PlayHQ — not a second registration. The WMDCA by-laws spell it out: once a player is registered for the season they can be added to other teams and competitions by permit (by-law 6.8), and an “internal permit” is specifically the case of a player “registered as a Junior also requesting to play Senior Cricket at the primary Club” (by-law 6.3). Nothing for you to fill in — if a senior side wants you, we handle it.
Already registered on the wrong form?
It happens, and it’s fixable. Please don’t register again — that just means two payments to untangle. Email apccgators@gmail.com with the player’s name and we’ll sort out the transfer and refund with PlayHQ.
Am I still a junior?
The WMDCA works out your age group from how old you are on 1 September 2026 — not your age on the day you register, and not your age when the season starts. So for 2026/27 it comes down to one date on your birth certificate:
Boys
Born on or after
2 September 2009
Still a junior for 2026/27. Use the junior form, even if all your cricket ends up being with the seniors.
Girls
Born on or after
2 September 2007
Girls can play Under 17 up to two years past the boys’ limit, so the junior window is two years wider.
Born before those dates? You’ve aged out of juniors, and the senior form is the right one. Here’s where each birthday lands:

Under 11 and Woolies Blast work the same way, and there’s no senior-fee trap at that end — the junior or Blast form is the right one either way. Girls may also play up to two years below their own age group (an Under 15 girl can play Under 13, an Under 17 girl can play Under 15), so there’s flexibility once we’re sorting teams.
Right on the line?
A couple of cases are worth a quick email to apccgators@gmail.com before you pay rather than after: a birthday within a few weeks of the cut-off, or a girl of 17 or 18 planning to play Under 17. The association rule allows it, but which PlayHQ form you belong on can depend on how that season’s forms are set up — and we’d much rather check it for you than process a refund.

Before you start
Have these handy and you’ll be done in one sitting:
- ✓ Your Cricket ID login — the same email and password you used last season
- ✓ The player's full name and date of birth
- ✓ A mobile number and email address (a parent's, for juniors)
- ✓ An emergency contact name and number
- ✓ Anything the coach should know — allergies, asthma, medical conditions
- ✓ A credit or debit card
- ✓ Any voucher or discount code you've been given
Forgotten your password? Use the “forgot password” link rather than creating a second account. Duplicate Cricket ID accounts are the single most common cause of registration headaches — they split a player’s history and can hide them from our team lists.

Choose who you're registering
PlayHQ asks whether you're registering yourself or someone else. Parents: choose someone else and add your child as the participant — not yourself.

Check the details
Spelling of the name, date of birth and contact details. The date of birth decides the age group, so get it right.

Answer the club questions
Our code of conduct, and for juniors a photo, video and live streaming consent question. Both are explained below.

Pay and check your email
You'll get a confirmation email from PlayHQ within a few minutes. No email means the registration didn't go through — check your junk folder, then tell us.
Fees
Your registration fee is shown in PlayHQ at the “Fees” step, before you pay anything. Senior, junior and Woolies Blast fees are all different — another reason to make sure you’re on the right form.
Fees go straight back into the cricket: association affiliation and player insurance, match balls, training equipment, turf and ground preparation, and umpires. The club runs on that plus our sponsors and volunteers.
Help with the cost
Cost should never be the reason anyone misses a game of cricket. If fees are difficult this year, have a quiet word with our Treasurer at apcctreasurer@gmail.com. We can arrange a payment plan, and we’ll help you check whether any government activity vouchers or concession-based support are available. Every conversation stays between you and the Treasurer — it goes no further, and it makes no difference to selection.

Two of the questions in the junior form are ours rather than PlayHQ’s, and they’re worth reading properly before you tick anything.
Photos, video & live streaming
A yes or no question, and no is a perfectly fine answer — it won’t affect your child’s selection, participation or standing at the club. You can change your mind at any time.

Once registrations close we sort juniors into age groups and teams, and your coach or team manager will be in touch about training. Every coach, team manager and committee member who works with our juniors holds a current Working With Children Check.
Common questions
I played last season — do I need to register again?
Yes. Registration is per season, every season. It's what makes you insured, eligible for selection and able to be named in a team, so it has to be done again each year.
I'm a junior who's been picked in a senior side. Two registrations?
No — one junior registration, and you're covered for both. The club adds you to the senior side by permit. If you've already paid a senior fee by mistake, email us rather than registering again.
How do I know if I've aged out of juniors?
Your age on 1 September 2026 is what counts. Boys born on or after 2 September 2009 are still juniors for 2026/27; girls born on or after 2 September 2007, because Under 17 girls runs two years wider. Born before that and the senior form is yours.
My child has never played cricket. Where do they start?
Woolies Blast if they're under 9 — it's all skills, games and fun, and no experience is expected. From Under 11 up, use the junior form. If you're unsure, ask us and we'll point you to the right group.
Can we come and have a look before we commit?
Please do. Come down to training, have a hit and meet a few people. You need to be registered before you play a match, but not to come along and try it out. Message us on Facebook and we'll tell you when your age group trains.
I played for another club last season.
You're very welcome. Register through the same links, then let us know — a transfer between clubs has to be lodged in PlayHQ and approved before you can be selected, so it's worth telling us early rather than the week before round one.
I'm registering two or three kids.
One Cricket ID account handles the whole family. Complete a separate registration for each child, choosing the right form for each of their age groups.
Which team will I be in?
Teams are worked out after registrations close, based on age groups and numbers — and we run more sides than most clubs in the district, so there's a spot for every level. Our current sides are listed on the teams page.
Something went wrong partway through and now I'm stuck.
Don't start over — a half-finished or duplicated registration is harder to fix than a stuck one. Email us with the player's name and what you were up to, and we'll look at it from the admin side.
